Dream – July 17, 2026

I am Supergirl.

I am escorting three busloads of teenage girls to a museum when there is an accident on a bridge. All three buses end up in the water.

I am desperate to save everyone, but I also have to conceal my secret identity. I begin heating the water to help keep everyone alive.

One bus has landed on a small island. I gather everyone there and give them food. I stack a second bus against the first to create more shelter.

Eventually, I get another bus wedged between the island and the others. Then I begin looking for stragglers when one of the buses floats away.

I try to find it and pull it back. I end up using the fuselage of a luxury jet as a place to shelter the girls.

Finally, I am searching for one lost child when a text message from Shin wakes me up.

Reflections

I woke up more responsible than I really am.

In the dream, I wasn't just watching a disaster happen—I was Supergirl. Supergirl isn'tooming for glory; she's someone who feels responsible for protecting. I wonder if I chose her because I've been carrying more responsibility than is resonable for. Floppy mortal. She's not as flawless as her cousin. And younger means, more mistakes. That certainly tracks.

The three buses full of teenage girls:. They all seemed vulnerable, and my only concern was getting every single person to safety. It didn't occur to me to save myself first.

it never does

Bridges usually represents transitions, and this one collapsed into the water. Water = emotions or the unconscious, so... difficult emotional transition or a situation that suddenly became overwhelming. Again, tracks

Worrying about revealing my secret identity. Not just trying to rescue everyone—I was trying to do it without exposing who I really was. there parts of myself that I keep hidden while I'm helping other people. Of course, I do t dare really let anyone know who I am

They betray me. Either by choice or by circumstance. Never ever take off your mask

I wasn't fighting a villain. I spent most of the dream warming the water, gathering people onto an island, feeding them, stacking buses into shelters, and improvising with whatever I could find. It wasn't about defeating something. It was about reducing suffering.

Even after almost everyone was safe, I couldn't stop. One bus drifted away, and then I was searching for one last missing child. That may be the part that resonates with me the most. It feels like my mind was saying that “almost everyone” isn't enough. There's always one more person to help or one more problem to solve.

Maybe that's a strength, but maybe it's also a burden.

The dream never actually ends. I don't find the last child because Shin's text message wakes me up. That unfinished ending almost feels intentional. Sometimes life interrupts before we get closure, and maybe part of what my subconscious is exploring is learning that I can't always rescue everyone or finish every mission.

What I take away from this dream isn't that I'm some kind of hero. It's that I seem to have a deep instinct to protect, to comfort, and to keep searching for people who might otherwise be forgotten. That's something I value about myself, but it's also a reminder that one person can't carry the weight of saving everyone.
