The Writerly Writer

Your Wolf spent the week at a writer's workshop. His FIRST writer's workshop.
Blerg.
Just kidding.
Sort of.
It's been an incredible learning experince. LOTS of new things, some great exercises and TRRRRRIFIC people. On the other hand, I feel like a 12 year old who realizes that the drawing they just finished doesn't look like the thing they were drawing.
I learned a new term that makes me shake my head:
'Writerly'
As in, his writing is very writerly. Over written, acutely aware of the wordiness. An author in love with the soundof his own voice.
Guilty as charged.
The problem is: I L.O.V.E. overwrought prose. See my ecstasy over Richard Hamilton's The Royal Road to Romance.
I should probably change the name of the site to 'The Writerly Wolf'.
It is another glorious morning here on the edge of the world and I am too little rested. I stayed up too late.
The cost is that I need more sleep.
While I steal thirty more minutes, here is a few thousand more words from the week.
